"Get a Life, Not a Job"

This week I listened to a woman speak online about "How to Design Your Career and Let Your Talents Work for You". She was really fantastic and afterwards I sent her a note thanking her. She just contacted me and asked if I would read her book and write a review for her for Amazon. The publisher will send me a pre-released version; I believe the book will be available in April. AMAZING DAY

What an amazing day!!!! What an amazing day!!!! A hawk flew overhead today as I drove, with impeccable timing for this particular drive. This confirmed again for me that what I am doing is the right thing. I feel so great about all of this. Excited, Enthused, Passionate... What an amazing day!!!!

Ball Dropped

I have been so busy I dropped the ball on the lunch bags. Owen's two teachers are waiting for me to send in the bags so they can be decorated in class. AWESOME. (I've been pretty busy these last few weeks, so I hope I'm excused from the homework I missed.)

This is how to start a Monday....

On Sunday I created a fundraising page and emailed about 100 people to donate to MUST for the build of their new Health Clinic. This is one of the responses I got this morning via email:
"Sue, We need to chat. If you haven't heard my story about why I give so much to Must then I'd like to share it with you. I want you to double your goal and let's raise $5000.00 together. Please call or e mail me so we can set up a time to chat. Great job, wonderful calling. Remember we get back 10xs what we give. My life has been proof of that."

Honduras

The first email I read this morning at work was from a retired firefighter who works to pay for his mission trips to Honduras. He has a friend there who needs two total knee replacements due to severe arthritis. He is part of a ministry called "Heart to Honduras". It was an amazing letter and he said that he and this woman have nothing to offer but thanks. Actually, what he offered me was an opportunity to help someone. That was thanks in itself. I offered some of our illustrations to him as well as a link to my blog.

Mark today on the calendar. Today is the day everything starts to change. This will become clearer to you in the weeks ahead. For now just know that I saw two hawks today. One sitting on a light pole as we waited at the baseball field and another flew just a few feet in front of my windshield- as I was driving. I'm paying attention again. I'm listening. I'm looking. I'm ready.

Bleh

I need to be able to go without sleep for a few months, but if you know me, you know that less than 7 hours a night makes Sue a Mean Girl. So much for that big plan. I've read the '48 Days to Work You Love' book and it recommends taking some time "off". I think I need to do this. I feel like I haven't stopped thinking in a number of weeks and my brain is tired.

500 Lunch Bags

We now have 500 brown paper lunch bags, just screaming for some kid-friendly, happy and inspiring stick figures, stickers, stamps, marker drawings, scribble-scrabble, etc. If you are interested in decorating a few, let me know. I'll get the bags to you.

I was 15 minutes late for work today. I can't remember the last time I was 15 minutes late. On the way in I passed an awful car accident. Multiple cars. People trapped. This can be viewed a whole bunch of ways, but knowing that had I been on time today I could have been involved was a bit scary. I had to drive right by the minivan upside down with people trapped. Praying for those people involved. Appreciating that I'm sitting at my desk right now. Unhurt. We need to do something with our lives while we have them.

Decorating Supplies

A great friend has given O and E a bag of stickers, markers, stencils, etc. so that we can start decorating our lunch bags. Now we'll have to get some bags. Anyone interested in providing a few packages, let me know. O's classroom teacher has already suggested that her class can decorate bags in class as a project on how to show love in the community. Of no coincidence (because there are no coincedences), O and I talked about that yesterday morning, even before we dropped off the PB&J. Clicking right along....

Today we delivered the goods and on the way out, J drove a homeless man back to the shelter. The shelf you see was empty and we filled it up. Today's work is done. What will tomorrow bring?

We collected 116 jars of peanut butter and 115 jars of jelly. How many sandwiches can this make? We deliver to MUST tomorrow, in our Hearts & Hands t-shirts to stock the pantry shelves at MUST.
